«Image is the thing
where the past conjuncts itself lightning-quick with the ‘now’ in a
constellation»
(W. Benjamin)
Sternbild (Constellation) refers
to dialectic image idea, introduced by W. Benjamin in his Passagenwerk.
The skill to connect synchronously different temporal dimensions equates
dialectic image to oneiric intuitions, evoking
ancestral, unattainable distance.
Progressive approach to
this originating constellation enlivens first section of the piece, that
culminates in explosion of b. 21.
In the second part, the
compositional texture fractures, destroying itself in instrumental gestures
that reveals new freedom, thanks to timbres superimposition similar to hypnotic
configurations drawn by Newton Circles of Frank Kupka.
A wave of energy springs
from this disposition on the Open, eliciting echo of rebirth in the pulsating
breath of the Nature.
