DICKINSON and SOFIJA GUBAJDULINA The projects of
2011 (Teatro La Fenice, Sale Apollinee) are an homage to two extraordinary
figures: the American Romantic poet Emily Dickinson and the Russian
contemporary composer Sofja Gubajdulina. These two poetic universes share a
metaphysical tension, that is sometimes lacerating, and comes to abysses of
silence. In the right
side of this page some images of the concert of Dec 3rd 2011 |

The
multi-faceted inner world of Emily Dickinson,
imagined by Paolo Puppa in the phantom dialogue premiered in occasion of
this concert, is movingly interpreted by the actress Elena Bucci. Some students
of the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia present their own related creations,
while the Plurimo Ensemble premieres chamber works by Fabio Grasso, Marco
Marinoni, Letizia Michielon e Gianantonio Rossi.

The theme of the Cross and of the
Redemption is the center of the homage to Sofija Gubaijdulina (in memory of
Giorgio Nonveiller, renowned professor of Venice Fine Arts Academy), event
realized thanks to the support of the CSAR (Centre of Russian Arts Studies of
Ca’Foscari University). Plurimo recalls the mystic route of the Russian
composer proposing some of her chamber works, like In Croce and De Profundis,
together with pieces of authors who influenced her poetics (Bach, Shostakovich)
and some new pieces, like Kafkiana seconda of Rojac and Kreuzige! of Riccardo
Vaglini (premiere).
Gubajdulina's deep reflection about the
relation between sound and color, drawn from Skrjabin, lives on in the dialogue
between the music and the figurative contributions of the students of Venice
Fine Arts Academy, as an homage to an intellectual consistency and a deep
spirituality, that can represent a model for the young generations.
